Integrated Emergency Information System
IEMIS was created to solve a practical problem faced by municipalities: when something urgent happens, the relevant information is scattered across different systems, phone lines and services.
The platform brings these pieces together in a single place. It monitors the city in real time through networks of IoT sensors—such as weather stations, air quality sensors, thermal cameras and environmental instruments—and displays the live measurements on interactive maps and dashboards. This way, the service can see what is actually happening, the moment it happens.
What We Do
When a value exceeds a threshold or an event is detected, the system automatically sends alerts to the responsible personnel. Alerts are grouped and prioritized so that nothing gets lost in the noise of a crisis. At the same time, IEMIS maintains a registry of the municipality’s resources—staff, vehicles, equipment and materials—along with shift scheduling. The management team knows at any given moment what it has available and where it is located, and can coordinate crews based on the real situation rather than on guesswork.
- Maps and dashboards: interactive maps and Grafana dashboards that show the situation at a glance.
- Reports and indicators: reports and dashboards for oversight and for documenting decisions.
- File management and communication: shared document management, internal communication between teams, and open data.
- Connections to external sources: integration of data from weather and air quality services.
- Smart assistant: the ability to query your data using plain, everyday language.
Adaptable to any organization
Although IEMIS was originally designed for the needs of municipalities and civil protection, the same philosophy can be adapted to any organization that requires continuous monitoring, resource management and rapid decision-making.
By way of example, the platform can be used in:
- Port authorities and ports, for monitoring port facilities, equipment, vessel traffic, weather conditions and incident management.
- Industries and factories, for monitoring machinery, production sensors and environmental measurements, as well as for verifying the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (helmets, vests, goggles, masks, etc.) through AI-powered cameras.
- Warehouses and logistics centers, for overseeing equipment, inventory, vehicles and workflows.
- Airports and transport infrastructure, for monitoring critical facilities, incidents and operational procedures.
- Hospitals and healthcare units, for managing equipment, staff, alerts and critical incidents.
- Campuses, business parks and large facilities, for monitoring infrastructure, energy management and site security.
- Energy installations and utility networks, for overseeing critical equipment, sensors and technical incidents.
Thanks to its modular architecture, IEMIS adapts to the specific needs of each organization, connects with existing information systems and sensors, and can incorporate specialized functions, automations and artificial intelligence applications—offering a unified picture of operations and supporting faster, better-documented decisions.
Our Projects
IEMIS focuses on the study of intelligent systems and data-driven decision-making through advanced artificial intelligence and large-scale analytics. The team explores how information, context and real-world signals shape complex processes, developing tools that support reliable automation and meaningful innovation.IEMIS Research Group
